Home Tour

w/some of my gfs/home volunteers at my gf rebekah's house (she graciously put her beautiful home on the tour)

The beginning of the month was very busy which is why the delay in the blogging. This year I had the opportunity to co-chair the Grand Forks Holiday Home Tour which is hosted by the GF Republican Women's organization. My two girlfriends and I agreed to chair the event but didn't fully understand what it all entailed until it was too late to back out. 6 months later though we turned out a very successful fundraiser that brought in over $17,000 (the last home tour was $10,000) and brought a much younger demographic and both males and females to the tour, despite scrambling for homes on the tour, picky homeowners, picky designers, etc. It was successful for a lot of the businesses that we brought in as well, for example one of our interior designers paired up with Pier 1 Imports who reported the highest sales the store had EVER HAD on Saturday and the manager attributed it to the home tour!

It was a major family effort though on all of us We all have young children who can recognize one of "mommy's posters" (posters advertising the tour that we had to hang up around town) in any store front, husbands who worked behind the scenes tirelessly and the day after the "home tour party" - 3 kids age 5 and under, 2 husbands and two of three chairs cleaned up an entire empty floor where the party had been the night before.

So happy it was a success but even happier that it's over!

Michael, Brian & Grandma Bernie stopped by the Home Tour party before heading off to the Northern's Christmas Party

home tour chairs and our extremely supportive and wonderful husbands
