4/11: Grandma Bernie celebrated 80 fabulous years of being young! All the family gathered at Ron and Dana's for her birthday dinner and a family photo. Happy birthday to Sommer too!

4/12: Have you heard the good news? Easter. Since Chilly claims Buddhism and Brian is a delinquent Lutheran and Lilly isn't even three months old, we stayed home and dressed Lilly up in her Easter bunny suit that she received from Great-Great Aunt Sharon.
the cutest chubby bunny ever
4/15-4/19: Dahlia made her maiden-voyage to Grand Forks. GF is a far cry from the bright lights of NYC, but D seemed to enjoy herself. She had Lilly-time, what more could she ask for? Friday night Dahlia got to experience GF nightlife in all its glory, including dinner at The Toasted Frog. While we were out and about in GF Friday evening, Lilly had her first night away from her parents at Grandpa Ron and Grandma Dana's. She handled it much better than Chilly did. Chilly had Brian call every few hours to see how the Lillster was doing. (she was snoozing every time we called)
Dahlia visits Lilly! Grandma and Lilly are ready for their sleepover!
4/20: Lilly continues to amaze us everyday! She has learned to laugh! We're not quite sure what makes her laugh but when she gets going her giggles are unstoppable and infectious! This past Monday Lilly ROLLED over for the first time!! Upon researching this new capability we found out that Lilly is right on schedule development-wise. This is just the first stage of her rolling over and by 5-6 months she should be strong enough to roll back to front. Nonetheless, we're pretty amazed and proud of Lilly's latest accomplishment. Check out the picasa website to see Lilly's roll shot-by-shot.

Her cooing has progressed to squealing. It's a riot to listen to her. We've also introduced the television programs Ni-Hao Kai-Lan and Dora the Explorer. The cartoons peaks Lilly's interest and teaches a few words in Chinese and Spanish every episode. Thank to Kai-Lan, Lilly and Chilly have learned to count to 3, and how to say crucial words like "up" and "push" in Chinese. It is most helpful that Brian comes home from work and corrects Chilly's pronunciation after each episode of Ni-Hao.
4/21: Happy 27th Whitten!! The Goodman boys were kind enough to come over and babysit Lilly for a few hours. They did a fabulous job - we see more babysitting of Lilly in their future.

Jack is the baby-feeder in the trio of babysitters. Whitten's 20th birthday back in 2002.
4/22: Lilly is 12 weeks old and it is officially the 5 year anniversary of our engagement! Seems like just yesterday Brian proposed on the balcony at G Square and then we were headed off to the Kappa Jr./Sr. Case Race. Drinking duties called back then!

4/25: It was a beautiful 60 degrees in GF so lots of yard and garden work was done. Hopefully at the end of the summer we'll be able to harvest tomatoes and peppers! Our bulbs are coming in although quite a few have fallen victim to hungry rabbits. Unfortunately, Buttercup prefers to watch the rabbits rather than hunt them thus allowing these villains to pillage the bulb garden. We also took Lilly on her first stroller ride around the neighborhood. One block in and she was asleep.
4/26: IT SNOWED. YUCK. Yes, it is the end of April, yes it was 60 degrees here yesterday and yes, we're aware that it was 91 degrees in D.C. this weekend. On the bright side it's too warm for the snow to stick around. Whew!
On the William and Mary front, Chilly's tenure on the Young Guarde Council has come to an end since it'll be her five year reunion this fall. She is however co-chairing the WM 5th Year Reunion Gift Committee! All gifts to the Fund are much appreciated! Brian is actively trying to gather alumni in the nearby area for alumni socials. Can you believe that there are 8 WM alumni in Grand Forks? Granted, Chilly, Brian and Michael are three of them... but there are LOTS of alumni in the Minneapolis area and quite a few in South Dakota. We're hoping for a WM Happy Hour in the near future!
We'll end this with a sweet video of Lilly and Brian hanging out this afternoon. Ciao!
