We celebrated Valentine's Day on Friday night and saw, what else? The movie: Valentine's Day. Brian's favorite movie genre is romantic comedies and all of the commercials touted Valentine's Day as the American version of Love Actually (one of Brian's all-time favorite movies).

Valentine's Day has an all-star cast and like Love Actually, all of the characters' stories are intertwined. The movie takes place on Valentine's Day and tells the stories of young love, complicated love, friendship that turns into love, forever love, no love, parental love, forgiveness and generosity.
Without giving too much away, it's a cute, mostly predictable movie. Ashton Kutcher is the main character but we enjoyed the performances from Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper and Anne Hathaway the most. Not gonna lie - there were a few tears at the end - but we'll chalk that up to being parents.
The amount of product placement in the movie was unbelievable, you would've thought we were at a Bond movie! Corvo wine anyone? Need flowers, call 1-800-flowers and don't forget to drive a Hybrid! We suggest going during the day or waiting for it to hit Netflix/cable. Not as cheeky as Love Actually - but then again Hugh Grant isn't part of the Valentine's Day cast which may be another reason Brian thought it wasn't as good.
Brian's man-crush, Hugh Grant
Honestly, we don't go to the movie theater that often and we didn't realize that they'd become so interactive! What happened to the days of going to the theater, eating popcorn and laughing at the screen when you were supposed to laugh? Taylor Lautner's NAME came on the screen during opening credits (TL of Twilight fame) and girls actually WHISTLED and HOOTED... the kid wasn't even on screen yet! Then the audience actually talked back to the screen, clapped when something good happened, "awwwed" when the kid did something cute, etc....we don't get it. It's a movie, not a comedy for TV with a live studio audience.
