Since we were gone for the weekend of Lilly’s 2nd birthday, we hosted her party the weekend before at our house. It’s a small house for all the people we had over, but it was a good time. Lilly’s buddies and their families came over for one wild play date.
She loved having her family and all her friends over. She chose her cake the day before, a super girly and pink Barbie cake! She really enjoyed everyone singing to her and opening presents, of course! The kids loved the little noise makers we gave out and everyone looked adorable in their party hats. Lilly looked super cute in the party hat Great-Grandma Donna mailed to her; a leopard printed furry hat with leopard ears that had “Party Animal” written across it.
So many people from across the country were kind of enough to remember Lilly’s birthday so much so, that now whenever a package arrives she says, “My present?” Brian stopped by Toys ‘r Us and couldn’t help but buy Lilly her first bike! Right now, her legs are a little too short to reach the pedals, but by this summer I have no doubt the bike will be a go! Either way, it didn’t stop Lilly from riding her bike around the house with the help of her Uncles Jimmy, Jack and David. Great-Aunt Amy commented that Uncle Jimmy sounded like a labor-delivery nurse with his coaching of “Push Lilly! Push!”
The Bug didn’t nap all day because she really is a party animal! She finally crashed when the last guest left at 10:30PM.
