Lilly-ville

she wanted to wear her panties...over her pants and diaper

Lilly will be turning 2 years and 3 months on April 28th. Here's what's up with the Bug.

Some of her favorite lines are:

"What are you doing? Where are you going?"

"Don't be mad Mama. Be happy!" (She puts her hands out to placate and taps you on the back).

"No, I'm fine." (If you ask her if she'd like something).

She wakes up every morning and the first thing she says is, "I want to eat". Usually her top breakfast choice is peanut butter toast.

She's been really into picking her nose and then smearing snot on her forehead. Way attractive, we know.

Still working on the potty-training. Getting a little bit better. I've been telling her that to go to school she has to use the potty and she really wants to wear "panties". When I ask her what she'd like to wear she always gives it some thought. Example: this morning I asked her if she wanted to wear panties or a diaper for her breakfast with Grandpa Ron and she said "I'm wearing panties. I won't pee pee in my panties." However as we were getting dressed after swim class later on, she specifically asked to wear a diaper. (Stinky diaper followed).

We dropped off an application to a pre-school for the fall earlier this week. She was so excited to "go to school" that when we were leaving, she started crying saying she wanted to stay at school.

Her lessons are ending now. Today was the last day of swim lessons, music, gymnastics and dance all end next week. Her dance recital is Saturday, May 7th. She'll be dancing to "Me and My Shadow" by Dancing Dan. She can't swim on her own yet, but she does very much enjoy music class and her teacher said she could move up to the next level (even though you have to be 3). She can forward-roll and we're working on heel digs in dance.

She understands the concept of friends and always says first and foremost that EH and NK are her best friends. Not a day goes by where there isn't a mention of EH. She "calls" EH and saves things for him and always asks  if EH is going to be at the gym too.

the Bug and EH

We've been listening to the CDs Yai sent her non-stop in the car and Lilly can sing along with "B-I-N-G-O". She's loves to put everything in bags and piles and cover her stuffed animals, Buttercup, herself and us in blankets. She still calls cookies, "doccies." She also likes to say and sing the HAPPY BIRTHDAY song. She has a very strong interest in movies, anything Toy Story and Disney. She still a little artist. We're working on drawing shapes. She knows how to say her letters and numbers in sequence, but I'm not sure she gets it. I'm concerned about her color knowledge, but Brian thinks she knows them. However, with these three topics Lilly DOES NOT recite on command, so don't question her.
