On June 3, Brian and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. Grandma and Grandpa Goodman generously volunteered to take the girls for the evening so Brian and I went out to Little Bangkok. It wasn't crowded, but very rarely do we get to eat at home just the two of us - without one of us (mainly Brian) doing the cooking. So we had our orders to go and enjoyed a quiet evening at home.
For our anniversary we usually gift each other with a gift from the "traditional gifts" vs. contemporary. Seventh anniversary = copper...and we bought each other the exact same gift! HA. Kismet?
We'd been so busy the weeks leading up to our anniversary that we both put off buying gifts until the day of. We both (separately) went to Badman Designs (David Badman is an artist in town) which is a store know for it's owner's works in copper. I originally went in looking for cufflinks. Brian went to the jewelers next door looking for something copper but it was suggested to go to Badmans. We BOTH looked at one of his mirrors and other home décor. BUT THEN - we BOTH chose to go with his collectible Christmas ornaments! Why? Because they are copper and because Brian knows I like to collect ornaments and I know Brian loves Christmas and enjoys reminiscing about where our different ornaments come from.
We BOTH chose the "2006" ornament and we BOTH asked if "2013" could be engraved on the ornament in time for that evening.
Brian was told no, but I was told that an additional little piece with 2013 could be added on. Badman's boxed the ornaments, tied it with a gold bow and then put them in paper bags that had been hand painted.
When Brian came home that evening he handed me a brown paper bag (the back of the bag). I said, "Is that from Badman Designs?" and then I handed him a brown paper bag. And now here we are with TWO of (almost) the same ornament! (Badman wouldn't let us return the non-customized one...even though he keeps it in stock).
Do we know each other or what? Happy 7th Anniversary to us!
