Introducing Georgina Marie!

She's here! Baby Goodman #3!

Last Sunday, Aug. 11 - we were supposed to have dinner at Ron and Dana's to celebrate Ron and Sam's birthdays. Earlier in the day we went as a family of four to play a few holes of golf and joked around that the bumpy cart ride would jostle baby out. I dropped Brian and the girls off at Ron's around 515 and ran over to Gap Kids to pick up shoes for the girls flower girl outfits for Auntie Reesie's wedding. When I got back to the car and sat down - my water broke. That's right, in our BRAND NEW CAR that we purchased the day before. We traded in Brian's Honda Accord for a 2014 Honda Odyssey...mini-van yes - but it's a great ride with 8 seats and tons of storage.

So I called Brian, ran back to our house to get the hospital bag and then over to get Brian. We went to the hospital and I had to take an antibiotic bc I was positive for Group B Strep. We had visitors that evening - Brian's friends Danny, Garrett and Sam and Dana and Michael brought the girls in. I did have an epidural bc, well, it makes everything feel so much easier! Contractions are not fun.

Finally around 1am I was fully dilated and it was time to have the baby. Our nurse was great and the doctor on call that evening was very groovy. Delivery was very easy - about 4 or 5 "pushes" and baby girl was out!

Brian and I were concerned at first bc there wasn't a lot of crying coming from her, but the medical staff said it was normal and that she was fine. She had lots of hair and was so tiny. Her stats are 20.5 inches long, 7lbs 8 oz and head circumference - can't quite recall. She was born at 1:28am. She is our heaviest baby - the others were under 7lbs.

Evan won the baby pool guessing Aug 12 between 1-4am. Because she was born at a relatively early time, her very first visitor was Grandma Dana who was there around 2:15am.

We didn't have a name for her until 3pm that day. We thought about Juliet, Alexandra, Annabelle, Annalise, Camille, Catherine, Lila, Virginia and Georgina. The winner.... GEORGINA MARIE. Marie (for Grandma Donna and my friend Marie) and Georgina - we just like. We'll call her Georgie or Gigi? Lilly wanted to name the baby either Jewel Francine or Candy Hotdog. She has since decided to nickname her Chubby Cheeks but also likes Gigi - or for her "GG" - bc it's easy for her to spell her name.

We only stayed in the hospital until Tuesday morning, bc I was bored and we were both healthy - so we went home to Brian and the girls and got to hang out as a family Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

Georgie is very sweet and alert. The girls love her. Lilly has been a great big sister helping to take care of Bingo and the baby. Bingo, who we were most concerned about - LOVES her little sister. She's very gentle at "petting" Georgie and gives lots of hugs and kisses. The day the baby was born Grandma and Grandpa surprised the girls with some new American Girl gifts. Lilly received AG Doll of the year Saige  - which she has been drooling over forever. Bing received her very own Bitty Baby doll AND a stroller. So a lot of their excitement when they came to the hospital was not just for their new sister, but to show me their new dolls.

Georgie's been pretty good since we've been home. With this baby we are going to really try to commit to swaddling the baby and letting her sleep in her crib vs sleeping with us. So far - no pacifier! But having this baby has been harder than the other two bc of the closeness in age between Bingo and Georgie. Plus of course, Mom did not come out for this baby's arrival so her extra pair of hands around the house and with the girls has been sorely missed. Brian did make the "ginger tea" since Mom couldn't be here this time around!
