**I received free products in order to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are my own.**
Back in January my friend Hillary was chosen to host a Disney Side celebration. She suggested I apply to host as well. I figured, why not? At the time I was very immersed in researching Disney for our upcoming trip. So I started filling out the online application and a few days later I got an email informing me that I had been chosen to host!
Honestly, I wasn't really sure what I had gotten myself into. The Disney Side celebration was being hosted by a business called Mom Select. Essentially this business sends products to bloggers who in turn blog about the product and get to keep the product afterwards. I may live in North Dakota but I don't live under a rock and realize that there are many people out there who do this - a lot. And it's not just blogs now - there are all kinds of social media - twitter, youtube, vine, pinterest, facebook, tumblr, instagram!
But the premise seemed simple enough, we were going to receive a package and then host a Disney theme party! All we had to do was post about it via social media. Well, with Lilly's Frozen party and Bingo's birthday in February - and our trip to Disney in between, it seemed do-able.
There was a Facebook group we were supposed to join to share ideas and communicate. And let me tell you, there were a lot of people who were really really mad about not being chosen for this! So I feel pretty lucky that I was selected! Also included were helpful webpages like
www.spoonful.com
www.babble.com
www.disneyside.com
www.disneysidecelebrations.com
I checked these out and there were a lot of great tips for visiting Disney and bringing the Disney magic home.
Right before we left for Disney we received a package (but didn't open it until we got back from Disney). Man - that package was packed with all kinds of goodies!! A big thank you to: Mom Select, Disney, American Tourister, HP, Craisins, ABC's The Chew and TwoSmiles.
Below is the video of us opening up our package!
