Our DisneySide @ Home Celebration was Bingo's 2nd Birthday party!
We used all of the goodies that came from the MomSelect DisneySide package and made some of the items and bought some of the items as well.
There are a TON of ideas on pinterest and I started a DisneySide board to pin all the cool ideas that people from everywhere have pinned. Let me tell you, people LOVE Disney and go-all-out for some of their parties. We also used the websites www.babble.com, www.spoonful.com, www.disneyside.com and www.disneysidecelebrations.com .
Since it was around Valentine's Day there was actually quite a bit of Disney themed foods available for purchase. I bought UTZ's chocolate covered pretzels in the shape of Mickey and Minnie from Target. Did you know there were even cut & bake cookies with Mickey's head that you can buy? We did cupcakes instead of a cake but the cupcakes looked like Mickey - added two mini oreos for his ears - and voila - done! Mickey Cupcake! This awesome short-cut cupcake was on spoonful.com. With the cookie cutters we received in the MomSelect package we made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and peanut butter and banana sandwiches - cut into the shape of Mickey's head, hand and a star.
Our bottles of water for our guests got - Disney-fied. I pinned this great way to dress up waterbottles on Pinterest. Just take DuckTape and tape it along the wrapper. There are lots of themed Duck Tape nowadays and ours was of course, Mickey Mouse!
We encouraged all our guests to wear Disney - whether it be a tshirt or a costume or reflective of Disney somehow. We had lots of Princesses and Spiderman and StormTroopers Anakin Skywalker in the house. Even Gigi had her Disney on (Disney Baby's It's A Small World Outfit that G&G Goodman gave her for Christmas).
Also found on Pinterest was a really cool looking Mickey Mouse (head) pinata. Since most of our guests were toddlers and we were hosting the party inside, I had Brian change the piñata into a pull-string piñata. He did a fantastic job. Brian also did a great job drawing Minnie Mouse and we had the kids pin Minnie's bow on her head.
Another game we played was the Bingo game that came in the package. The kids LOVED it. We played multiple times. Grandma Dana was in charge of tattooing all the kids with the character tattoos that were sent to us.
Last but not least we set up an area for photos. We used the tablecloth that MomSelect sent us and hung it as a background for a makeshift photobooth. I printed the pictures afterwards and sent them with thank you cards. A fun prop we had for the photo booth was Lilly's dinglehopper (fork used as brush) that we got at Disney World in January.
The kids were sent home with goodie bags full of all the things MomSelect sent us AND "I'm Celebrating" pins from Disney World! (I picked up extras during our trip). I can't remember if I saw it on Pinterest or if it was on a blog I read, but it was suggested that you could turn the pins into magnets, so that's what I plan on doing with our thanks.
Anyway, thanks DisneySide and MomSelect for choosing us to host a Disney Side @ Home Celebration. We had a lot of fun planning it and having the party!
