Bbbb...baby Lilly!

We always start our blog entry with a “time has passed quickly” type blurb but that’s because it really has. It seems like we never blog or upload new pictures in a timely manner, so we’ll try to be better about that.

The last half of June was a whirlwind! Father’s Day was celebrated with gifts from Lilly and Princess Buttercup and homemade tiramisu. It also happened to be Aunt Denise’s 50th birthday, but unfortunately we were unable to attend the festivities in Colorado with the Erickson clan.

We started Lilly on “real baby food” and she loves it. Lilly has quite the appetite and can’t get enough of bananas, green beans and carrots. Since she is eating “big kid food” she also gets to sit with us at the dining table thanks to our Stokke chair! At the suggestion of Chilly’s mom, we ordered Lilly a Stokke and with some quick assembly, Lilly has been able to join us during dinners. The chair puts Lilly at the dining table and is inclusive since the adult table serves as her table too. No tray for our little diner! Her feet do not dangle and the chair morphs with her as she grows! The benefits of the Stokke are endless! Those inventive Norwegians, what will they come up with next?

Lilly has become a little waterbug. Our initial venture at the Elks pool was not foretelling of how Lilly would take to water. Michelle and Chilly took Lilly to the Elks again and she was splish-splashing until she became prune-y. The next day Grandma Dana, Chilly and Lilly headed to the country club’s pool and Lilly was even more excited. It was certainly less crowded than the Elks and it had a baby pool – which was extremely warm. Ew. (Special thanks to Arisa for the polka dot bikini...sorry we forgot to credit you in the last blog).

Lilly was officially 5 months on June 28th and progressing well development-wise. We’re working on staying upright when put in a sitting position and Lilly has realized that when she puts her lips together she can make a “bbb...” sound.

BBBbuh-bye for now!
