a silly family pic on Brian's 27th birthday
goodbye ladybug, I'm too good of a swimmer for you!
Our summer schedule is kept busy with gymnastics class, which she takes with her little friend Myles, dance class and library time. We go to a different playground every Monday with the Mom's group we're in during the school year and she loves hanging out at the daycare at the gym.
Lilly is currently in love with parks and swing sets. If there's a slide or a swing - she loves it! Whether we're on a walk or in the car when we pass by a park, the Bug freaks out and gets super excited!
going down the slide at Town Square
She had only 8 teeth for a while (4 across the top and 4 across the bottom) but now we have a top left molar, and a tooth coming in on the bottom left and a molar coming in on the right.
As for words, here they are: hi, bye, hot, up, dad, mama, no, kitty, tha (grandpa in Thai) yai (grandma in Thai)
Comprehension: everything
Actually verbalizing: work in progress
Talking: this girl talks/babbles like you wouldn't believe
We have no doubt that when she can really talk, there will be no quieting her!
the Bug having a 15 minute conversation with Yai - Bug did all the talking!
She currently has a love for anything chocolate! Milk, Hershey kisses, M&Ms, even chippers!
Lilly is going to bed late, 10pm-ish and wakes up around 8:30am - 9am. She takes one long afternoon nap and hardly ever naps in the morning now. She is still sleeping with us in our bed at night, but has recently been taking afternoon naps in the crib - although I don't know if that counts since I put her in there AFTER she falls asleep. Oh well!
NPS Golf Tournament 2010
- Brian has been a very avid golfer this summer and is currently playing in the Member-Guest tournament at the Club this weekend. His guest is his good friend, Danny, who is originally from GF, but currently resides in Spain. Today (the first day of three), Brian and Danny took 2nd place overall and Brian was just a mere 6" from winning closest putt!
- Brian has quit smoking! He quit Mother's Day weekend and although he'll have an occasional cigarette, we are very proud of him!
- Brian has been delighted with all of the rose bushes he planted last year. I have never known a man to love flowers, especially roses, and gardening as much as Brian!
As for me:
- Besides running Lilly around here and there, I've been doing two-a-days at the gym. I was measured last week and am hoping to have some good results and lower numbers by mid-July. Really, it's because I have a gown I'm wearing to a wedding and I'd like to be at my peak condition for this dress. I've been very good about wearing my Skecher tone-up sneakers when on walks with the Bug. Are they working? I'm not really sure since I already have an active lifestyle - but I do enjoy wearing them and mentally, I've convinced myself that these shoes are helping!
- On a health note, I recently had some blood work done for life insurance and am ASHAMED at my high cholesterol score of 203. Technically, it's borderline, but it's in my genes, so I'm making changes to the diet..... goodbye wonderful cheeses. (moderation, not a full-out ban) However, I am very happy with my blood pressure level of 110/60.
- Since Brian has chosen to spend his time at the golf course, I am going to be learning how to golf! The first time I played was 9-holes a few years ago. I got frustrated, threw my club and many expletives came out of my mouth. I finally dusted off my clubs two weeks ago and played at Couples Night at the club (part of Brian's bday present) and have a very pleasant time. In fact, I had such a good time, that I even played for NPS's company tournament last weekend. Usually I serve as the "hole in one" verifier-girl, but this year I played! And it was great!

- I would also like to work on my photography skills. Here is a recent pic:

And there you have it, a quick re-cap on the B.D. Goodman's of Grand Forks!
