Cheryl and Randy adopted an him today from the Seattle animal shelter. And not only is Hobbs an older cat, but he's a special needs cat - because - he's a tripod! Hobbs lost one of his hind legs last year in a hit-and-run accident. His life has been pretty rough lately since his previous owner was evicted and that is how he ended up being placed for adoption.
A picture of Hobbs will be uploaded as soon as I figure out how to upload photos from my cell phone to the computer. The following picture is of a "tripod" cat with similar markings and a missing hind leg like Hobbs - BUT IS NOT HOBBS.
Casey Tinaves - adopted as a kitten by Cheryl in Portsmouth, but her many calls of duty with the Navy had Casey living permanently with Grandma and Grandpa in Vienna. She'll be 15 years old in August and enjoys a diet of rotisserie chicken, filet mignon and grilled fish and all of Ross Drive to run around.
Princess Buttercup Goodman - we adopted Buttercup at age 1 1/2 from the ASPCA in Newport News when we were in college. She was previously called "Chi Chi" but her new name and title suit her lifestyle much better! She was a cat with frequent flyer miles for a while, with winter break spent in North Dakota, where she now lives permanently. She has become a very good big sister to Lilly.
Atticus Finch Tinaves-Sysak - a cute boy cat with big paws, adopted in Pittsburgh. He ended up being a Sysak and is no longer a Tinaves.
Papillon - a pretty gray cat nicknamed Pappy that used to be Cheryl's - he also went to the other guy.
Bruno - Arisa bought him from a breeder during the summer of 2009. BOUGHT. (ugh) He's a beautiful dachshund and very well trained! Bruno is a very good puppy and is currently modeling for a dog boutique in the D.C. area.
Pua Phi - tied (with Hobbs) for the greatest act of adoption - this streetdog was taken in by Bubs and Graham while they were teaching English in Thailand. Then, they brought her HOME to the US! This Thai immigrant dog's life has been upgraded; she is now living the American dream!
Remember to spay and neuter your pets and ALWAYS consider adoption! There are so many animals out there that need loving homes.
