Little Miss Marker

Today Lilly was a bit of a little monster...a marker monster, that is. Both Brian and I have never known a little tot to be so entranced by any writing utensil as much as Lilly. Pen, pencil, crayon or marker - give it to the child and she's content. She's pretty good too about writing ONLY on paper, be it notebook, sketch pad, newspaper or scrap and she's also very good about capping the marker when she's done using it.

However, this afternoon I came around the corner of the dining room, because it was so quiet in the living room and found that Lilly had scribbled all over a CD case (which did look like a notebook) and herself.

Let's make this clear, she does not intentionally write on herself...usually. It just happens when she's walking around with an uncapped marker. Thank goodness for washable and non-toxic Crayola products! I say non-toxic because she does enjoy chewing on the crayons. Cute little weirdo.

Besides the markers, she has really taken to crossing her arms lately. Never because she's angry, but she likes to walk around with her arms crossed and sometimes it's like she's inspecting something. As you can see, she'll even swing with her arms crossed!

Today was also election day. Lilly and I went this afternoon and Brian went after work. Apparently Lilly made quite the impression! After giving his last name, the election volunteers at the site recognized it from our voting earlier and all the ladies were gushing about the Bug and her piggy-tails! We voted in the party primaries and for local boards. Brian's man, Rick Berg won the Republican primary for the U.S. House race.
