Crazy Weather

Yes we live in North Dakota, where it is perpetually cold, but this week we had a warm front. It was actually in the 40's earlier in the week! Such high temps meant that a lot of the snow began to melt. You could actually see grass on the front lawns! We live in an older home that leaks heat so the plants next to the house tend to appear earlier in the spring than the rest of the garden. Well, with all the warm weather we've had and the snow melting, on Tuesday, February 15th,  Brian spied 2 tips of tulips coming through the ground!

Then Thursday happened and it's freezing again. It's snowing and it's windy...so windy that our dishTV lost it's signal. So long tulips - we know you won't be blooming.

As a side effect of the early warm front, Belcourt (a reservation two hours west of GF) experienced an unexpected flood. The GF flooding isn't expected until the end of March/beginning of April.
