Lilly and I flew back on June 3 which just so happens to be our anniversary! Our 5th anniversary. Time has certainly flown by! We went out to dinner as a family to local restaurant Sander's 1907. It was Lilly's first time at the restaurant and she loved it. Although it is more of an "adult" restaurant, Lilly thoroughly enjoyed herself and kept herself occupied thanks to the coloring book, stickers and markers Grandma Dana left as s surprise on our table when we go there. Thanks Grandma Dana! I received lovely pearls (earrings and a ridiculously fabulously long strand) and I (following the "traditional gifts") gave Brian a tree of his choosing. (5th anniversary traditionally is "wood"). Why a tree? Because we made the big decision and purchased a lot. (of land) We had been looking around at available homes all spring but finally came to the decision that we wanted to build. So we purchased a great piece of land in the south end of the city. And we know our new next door neighbors who just purchased the lot next to ours too!! They have a little boy Lilly's age as well, but they won't be moving back to Grand Forks until the end of the summer. We won't be building anytime this year, but would like to be in our new home by the time Lilly starts kindergarten.
