| the two orphans taking care of each other |
Just a few notes about Lilly while we've been in VA:
- potty training: this actually started two weeks ago on the drive down to Colorado. Lilly has been telling us when she needs to "number 1" - including on the plane! She even "held it" until we could reach a gas station/rest stop. "Number 2" is a work in progress - never in the potty but always the pull-up.
- forests and trees: Lilly's most recent memory of wooded areas like Virginia is of Bear Country USA - where all the animals came out of the forest. So while we've been driving around Northern Virginia, Lilly has been peering out the windows looking for animals. "Where are the animals mama?" Sad? Speaks to the nature of the prairie that we live on??
- "SUPER": One of Lilly's favorite books comes into play again. "Julius! By Paul Frank: Only In Dreams" has a few lines of being able to be "SUPER TALL" in your dreams. Super has become part of Lilly's vocabulary. The soup is "super hot", the slip and slide is "super cold". She also has been saying, "Awesome" and "Babe".... she is definitely picking up on my vocabulary!
- orphans: This next one is cute but really sad at the same time. While I was on my way home from Richmond on Sunday morning, Bruno the dog was dropped off since Arisa and Evan were heading to Nags Head for the week. Bruno cried for two hours straight. Lilly then remarked to Bubs, "He's sad. He wants his daddy." Then she pet Bruno and said, "It's ok Bruno, my daddy's gone too."
- I called the pre-school where I had Lilly on the waiting list and she's in! We actually are going to do a month this summer, so Lilly starts school this Monday! She'll be going two mornings a week to start with and she's in for the fall too!
