Fluke Accident?

Last night, Monday, May 10, 2010 - LILLY USED THE POTTY!!!

We aren't pushing for Lilly to be potty-trained, after all she is only 15 months old. But lately if we ask if she needs to "go to the bathroom" she'll nod yes or shake her head no. Last Friday, we were in the kitchen and she was being particularly loud, so Brian asked her if she needed to "go" and she nodded yes. So she led the way upstairs and into the bathroom, pulled down her pants, had Brian take off the diaper and she sat. And waited...and waited and finally gave Brian a "look"...one of stage fright perhaps? So Brian said she could get up and she put her old diaper in the potty, closed the lid and headed to her room for a new diaper.

We were pretty happy with her recognition of needing to go and the routine of flushing, etc.

Last night, after taking her diaper off for bathtime, I was drawing water in the tub when she wandered into the bathroom. She picked up my magazine and went to sit down on her potty. She looked so cute because she looked as if she was seriously reading the cover of May's Shape, so we took a few pics. To our surprise, when she stood up we found that she had indeed used the potty!!!

It was more than likely a fluke accident - but we're pretty proud!!
